The experience and knowledge gained over the years has made HSLNEE a responsive, hard-working group of personnel committed to strengthening the family whatever its shape or size.
During 2019-2020 a total of 181 children and 113 families were supported by HSLNEE with referrals from various sources including health visitors, social workers and self-referral.
HSLNEE is funded by the City of Edinburgh Council and benefits from the support of a range of companies, trusts, churches and schools, which is always greatly appreciated.
HSLNEE run weekly groups in Leith to complement the core home visiting service: parents and carers can attend the Parents Early Education Partnership (Peep) Groups where they can meet others in similar circumstances and Baby Massage classes which are run in partnership with Dr Bell’s Family Centre.

Cookie PolicyHome Start Leith & North East Edinburgh are following the latest guidance from the NHS and Scottish Government regarding coronavirus (COVID -19). We have taken the very difficult decision to temporarily suspend services, and in particular our home visits as we prioritise the health and safety of our staff, volunteers and families we work with. We believe that this is necessary to protect everyone, during these times.
Taking this decision has not been easy and we understand that many of the families that use Home-Start may already be feeling anxious or isolated. We would like to offer our continued support and will be in regular contact by telephone. We can help by offering a listening ear and by signposting you to other local services that may be able to help your family.
We are proud of our place in the community and encourage everyone to come together to take care of each other.
